About the Role

Based in Cairns at the Rapid Accommodation and Apprentice Centre (RAAC) , you'll be the go-to Workplace Health & Safety expert supporting a highly skilled workforce building state-of-the-art modular homes for communities throughout Queensland.

This is a unique environment that combines the best of both worlds: ? Construction-focused project delivery ? Lean manufacturing processes ? Solid operational autonomy ? Support from a wider regional WHS team

You'll play a key role in shaping a safe, productive, and high-performing workplace culture.

?? What You'll Be Doing

Be the dedicated WHS lead on site

Partner with workers, forepersons, and management to drive positive safety outcomes

Lead daily pre-start meetings and ensure high-risk activities are properly planned and understood

Support Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) compliance





Facilitate monthly Talksafe meetings

Conduct comprehensive safety audits across production and construction delivery lines

Investigate incidents, hazards, and safety concerns

Ensure compliance with legislation, Codes of Practice, and WHS management systems

Work collaboratively with the regional WHS network to continuously improve safety performance

What You'll Need

Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety

Construction White Card

Current Driver's Licence

Strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Previous WHS experience in a construction, manufacturing, or similar operational environment

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Ability to influence and educate teams through a collaborative approach
