About the role

As our AOD Counsellor, you’ll be the heart of our residential program. You’ll work alongside the Project Coordinator to deliver therapeutic community (TC) based rehab. You’ll also guide our Support Workers so every resident gets consistent, evidence-based care.

- Case managing residents, developing intervention plans and tracking outcomes
- Overseeing the TC model and helping it develop, and acting as a role model for its principles
- Coordinating and supporting our Support Worker team, including caseload allocation and workflow
- Advocating for residents and building strong links with referral services, case workers and community
- Following up with former residents after treatment

- Keeping accurate, timely case notes and client records

What you’ll bring

- Tertiary qualification in counselling, social work, psychology or a related field
- Experience delivering AOD counselling and facilitating groups, ideally in a residential or TC setting
- Experience in working with Aboriginal clients
- Solid case management and assessment skills
- Confidence guiding and supporting a team
- A non-judgemental, holistic approach and a genuine belief in people’s capacity to change
- Strong documentation skills and comfort with online client systems
- Current driver’s licence, National Police Check and Working with Children Check

Why join us?

- Work that matters, every single day
- A supportive team that backs each other
- Salary packaging options
