About the role

Banjo's Bakery Cafe is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Baker to join our baking team in Lindisfarne, TAS 7015. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to learn the craft of baking from experienced professionals in a welcoming, fast-paced bakery environment. As an apprentice, you will work alongside skilled bakers to develop practical skills whilst gaining recognised qualifications in the baking trade.

This role is integral to maintaining the high-quality products and standards our customers expect from Banjo's Bakery Cafe.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting in the preparation of dough, pastries, and bread products according to established recipes and quality standards
- Learning and practising fundamental baking techniques including mixing, shaping, proving and baking
- Preparing workstations and ensuring all equipment is clean, organised and ready for use
- Following health and safety protocols and maintaining strict hygiene standards throughout the bakery
- Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection
- Assisting with the packaging and presentation of finished baked goods
- Supporting the bakery team during busy periods to meet production deadlines
- Contributing to the general maintenance and cleanliness of the bakery environment
- Receiving feedback and actively participating in on-the-job training to develop your skills

What we're looking for

- A strong passion for baking and food preparation with genuine enthusiasm for learning the trade
- Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to completing an apprenticeship programme
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work to detailed specifications
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods in a warm setting




- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality and hygiene standards
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts, as early as 2am
- No prior baking experience is required, as full training will be provided
