Are you mechanically minded, enjoy hands-on work and looking to start a career in the electrical industry?

Kalgas Energy Services is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Electrician to join our Kalgoorlie-based team in early 2027.

This is an excellent chance to gain practical experience across a diverse range of industrial electrical systems while working alongside highly skilled tradespeople in the mining, energy and industrial sectors.

Unlike a traditional electrical apprenticeship, this role offers exposure to specialised equipment, industrial automation, instrumentation and control systems, providing a strong foundation for a rewarding technical career.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of our experienced electricians and technical specialists, you will develop your skills through hands-on experience and formal apprenticeship training.

Your responsibilities will include

- Assisting with electrical installations, maintenance, repairs and fault finding.

- Working with industrial electrical equipment, switchboards, motors and control systems.

- Gaining exposure to instrumentation, PLCs, automation and process control.

- Assisting with electrical systems associated with generators, boilers, burners and industrial gas equipment.

- Learning to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.

- Following safe work practices and maintaining high standards of workmanship.

- Completing TAFE studies and apprenticeship training requirements.





You will have the chance to work across a variety of industrial and mine-site environments, gaining valuable experience beyond conventional electrical installations.

About You

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and genuine interest in becoming a qualified electrician.

To be considered, you will need to:

- Be a current Kalgoorlie-Boulder resident.

- Be eligible to commence an electrical apprenticeship.

- Have a genuine interest in electrical work, technology and problem-solving.

- Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety.

- Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

- Be willing to undertake TAFE studies and complete the apprenticeship program.

- Be able to meet mine-site entry requirements.

- Current WA Driver's Licence

Highly regarded but not essential:

- Completed electrical pre-apprenticeship or relevant work experience.

- Construction White Card.

- Interest in industrial equipment, machinery or automation.

Previous electrical experience is not required. We welcome applications from school leavers and individuals looking to begin a career in the electrical trade including mature age.
