We are recruiting for a growing provider of aged care and NDIS services for culturally and linguistically diverse communities across South West Sydney. Due to continued growth, we're looking for a reliable, detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join the Finance Team.

This is a practical role for someone who enjoys numbers and reconciliations and wants to build their accounting career in the aged care and disability sector.

About the role

Working closely with the Head of Finance and senior accountants, you'll support day-to-day accounting across our group of entities:

- Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations

- Completing daily, weekly and monthly bank and account reconciliations

- Assisting with month-end close and management reporting

- Preparing BAS, GST and PAYG reconciliations

- Maintaining the fixed asset register and intercompany accounts

- Backing up AP and AR, including Support at Home claims and billing

- Supporting audit and compliance requirements

About you

- Degree in accounting, finance or commerce





- 1-3 years' accounting or bookkeeping experience

- Experience with reconciliations and Xero, MYOB or similar

- Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail

- Able to work independently and meet deadlines

Desirable

- Aged care, disability, healthcare or community services experience

- Support at Home or government-funded program experience

- Membership of, or working towards, CPA or CA

- Languages other than English to align with our clients (Chinese, Vietnamese, Khmer)

Previous aged care experience is helpful but not essential if you have strong accounting fundamentals and a willingness to learn.
