We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support our Finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance requirements, and driving process improvements across the business.

About the Role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting month-end reporting, account reconciliations, statutory compliance, and financial analysis. You'll be someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and contributing to the continued success of a high-performing finance team.

Key responsibilities will include:

Financial Accounting

- Assist with balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve account variances.
- Prepare and process month-end journals.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records and the general ledger.

Accounts Payable

- Processing external labour invoices
- Backup to the Accounts Payable Officer

Compliance & Audit

- Assist with statutory reporting and compliance obligations.
- Support BAS preparation and lodgement.
- Assist with tax compliance requirements.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits and ASIC reporting requirements.

Continuous Improvement

- Contribute to finance process improvements and system enhancements.




- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and financial controls.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Team Support

- Collaborate with Finance team members to ensure high-quality financial outcomes.
- Provide support to the Head of Finance on various projects and ad hoc duties.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer, or similar accounting role.
- Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
