Your role at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital

We are seeking an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join our multidisciplinary team on a casual basis, providing support across all areas of the hospital.

The AIN supports the nursing team in the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care within an acute care environment. The role involves working under the supervision, delegation, and direction of a Registered Nurse , in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) decision‑making framework for nursing and midwifery care. All care is to be delivered within scope of practice and aligned with evidence‑based standards.

Shifts are rotating and across the ward, with flexible working hours available. Weekday and weekend work is available.

About the role

· Works within the AIN scope of practice.

· Plans, collaborates and consults with RN to achieve desired health outcomes for patients in a timely and efficient manner.

· All aspects of direct patient care is carried out under direction, guidance, supervision and coordination of a Registered Nurse.

· Assists Nursing caregivers to deliver all aspects of care using a patient-centred approach.

Your skills and experience

You will have active enrolment in, and have successfully completed at least 12 months of, an NMBA‑approved Bachelor of Nursing and/or Midwifery degree or Diploma of Nursing program,



or you will have successfully completed a nationally recognised qualification, being the Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assistance in Nursing Work in Acute Care) HLT33115 or an equivalent qualification.

To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate competence and effectively perform the skills outlined in the Statement of Duties, along with exhibiting well‑developed verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.

- Salary $38.10 - $39.23 AUD per hour (casual loading included) plus 12% superannuation
