About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to join our team at Warrnambool Toyota on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position based in Warrnambool, VIC 3280, responsible for overseeing all aspects of our service department operations.

The Service

Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction, managing service efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team of skilled technicians. You will be instrumental in driving the service department's performance and contributing to the overall success of the dealership.

Key responsibilities

- Manage and oversee all daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, resource allocation and workflow optimisation
- Lead, supervise and motivate a team of service technicians and administrative staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment
- Ensure all vehicle repairs and maintenance work meets Toyota standards and customer expectations
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and concerns with professionalism and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Monitor and manage service department budgets,



labour costs and parts inventory
- Schedule preventative maintenance and manage service appointments to maximise efficiency and customer convenience
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation in compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements
- Develop and implement strategies to increase service revenue and customer retention
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations within the service department
- Liaise with management on departmental performance, staffing requirements and ongoing training needs

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Service Manager or in a similar supervisory role within an automotive dealership or service facility
- In-depth knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance practices, vehicle systems and Toyota products
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Proficiency in service management software and computer systems commonly used in automotive dealerships




- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
- Sound understanding of dealership financial management, budgeting and KPI tracking
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and contribute to overall dealership objectives
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles when necessary
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive service management or related fields are highly desirable
