About the position:
Operational Leadership
As the point person for the store, you aren't just "working" the floor; you are orchestrating the entire environment.
- Staff Management: You are responsible for the "human" element—delegating tasks, supervising performance, and ensuring the team stays accountable to store standards.
- Opening/Closing: Managing the security and readiness of the building at the start and end of each day.
- Lead by Example: Setting the tone for work ethic and professional conduct.
Inventory & Financial Health This role has a heavy focus on the "backend" of retail, which directly impacts the bottom line.
- Supply Chain: Handling everything from weekly ordering and stock receiving to ensuring the shelves are physically full.
- Cash Flow & Pricing: You’ll be monitoring stock on hand to protect cash flow and updating prices to meet specific category margin targets.
- Auditing: Conducting a full stock take every 3 months to manage shrinkage and inventory accuracy.
Sales & Business Development Unlike a standard retail role, this position requires an active pursuit of growth.
- Wholesale Growth: You aren’t just waiting for people to walk in; you are prospecting new wholesale customers and supporting existing ones.
- Marketing: Maintaining the social media presence to keep the brand active and engaging for the local community.
- Merchandising: Managing the weekly specials process and ensuring price tags are accurate and reflective of current promotions.
Customer Experience & Safety The "front of house" responsibilities ensure the store remains a welcoming environment.
- Service Excellence: Greeting and assisting customers across two different touchpoints: the sales floor and the drive thru.
- Safety & Logistics: Utilizing a forklift license to move heavy inventory safely and keeping the store in "neat and tidy" condition.
In summary: Serve with exceptional customer service, manage staff and make sure the store is 100% ready for the customers.
