KAYS Meat is a subsidiary of Superior Food Group. Due to the continual growth of our organisation, we are currently seeking applications for apprenticeship 1,2,3 or fully experienced Butcher role based in Tamworth, NSW.
Overview
Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, it's a fulltime position that involves processing of meat. Successful candidate must have past experience in a similar role, able to maintain high health & safety standards and must a positive team player.
Your day to day routine will look something like this:
- Arrange cuts of meat and place them in an attractive manner in the display case.
- Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind different kind of meat to prepare meat in cooking form.
- Weigh, label and price a variety of cuts of meat for on-demand selections by customers.
- Educate customers on different selections of meat to help them decide what to purchase.
- Rotate products to reduce the chance of any meat spoiling to reduce waste and loss of profits.
- Maintain and clean the meat preparation counter to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
All about you:
- Apprentice year 1,2,3 or fully qualified Butcher
- 1-2 years' experience as a butcher.
- Understand all aspects of food safety.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Experience in whole animal butchery preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
