? A little cabin. A beautiful workplace. An eye for the little things.

There’s something special about opening the door to a cabin that feels just right. Fresh linen, sparkling windows and all the little touches that help someone settle in and exhale.

We’re looking for a reliable, thoughtful housekeeper to help create that feeling at Florence, our adults-only, off-grid cabin tucked into the bush near Preston Beach.

If you take pride in a beautifully prepared space, enjoy working independently and like the sound of bushland and birdsong as your backdrop, we’d love to hear from you.

? About us

We’re a small, owner-run business creating thoughtful escapes in nature. Our cabins give guests space to slow down, disconnect from the everyday and enjoy the straightforward things. The care that goes into preparing each cabin is a big part of that experience, and our housekeepers are a valued part of our team.

? The role

You’ll look after Florence between guest stays, making sure everything is clean, cared for and ready for the next arrival. This includes:

- Thoroughly cleaning and presenting the cabin to our standards.

- Washing and drying all linen and towels.

- Restocking supplies and adding those finishing touches.

- Following the care routines for our off-grid setup, including composting toilet chamber changeovers.

- Spotting and reporting maintenance issues, and handling small, practical fixes where you’re comfortable.

? Our kind of person

You notice the fingerprint on the window, the cobweb in the corner and the cushion that needs straightening. You care about doing a job well and get satisfaction from leaving a space looking its best.

You’ll also be

- Reliable and organised.

You manage your time well and make sure Florence is ready for each guest’s arrival.

- Independent and practical. You’re comfortable working on your own, showing initiative and letting us know when something needs attention.

- Happy in the bush. Gravel tracks, wildlife and the occasional eight-legged visitor are all part of the setting.

- Thoughtful about the environment. You’re mindful of water, products and waste, and happy to learn how our off-grid cabin works.

- Available on weekdays and weekends, as turnovers can fall on any day.

You’ll need your own reliable car, a driver’s licence, and access to a washing machine and dryer. Florence is a 150-metre walk from the parking area, so you’ll also need to be comfortable carrying linen and supplies to and from the cabin.

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is welcome, but care, reliability and a willingness to learn matter just as much.

? The practical details

- Typically 2-3 turnovers per week, depending on bookings.

- Cabin turnovers generally take 2 -2.5 hours, within the 11am checkout to 3pm check-in window, with laundry completed separately.

- Payment per turnover, including laundry.

- Full training, cleaning products and equipment provided
- A peaceful bushland workplace and a small team who value your work

✉️ Sound like your kind of work?

Please send us your resume and a thoughtful cover letter telling us a little about yourself, why this role appeals to you and what you’d bring to the care of Florence.

We’d also love to know where you’re based and your availability. Your cover letter helps us get to know the person behind the application, so please include one for your application to be considered.

We look forward to meeting Florence’s next caretaker.
