Genus is seeking experienced Cable Jointers to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major electrical infrastructure project, contributing to the installation, maintenance and repair of underground and overhead power networks while working within a safety-focused and supportive setting.

About The Role

As a Cable Jointer, you will be responsible for carrying out cable jointing, terminations and repairs in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. Working as part of a skilled team, you will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of essential power infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and splice various types of power and control cables.
- Install, maintain and repair underground electrical cable systems.
- Complete cable terminations for electrical equipment and overhead line applications.
- Perform cable jointing works on underground and overhead power networks.
- Join and seal cable sheaths using approved methods and materials.
- Maintain and operate cable jointing tools, equipment and testing devices.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Accurately complete project reports, records and documentation.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on site.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess

- Certificate III in ESI - Cable Jointing.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
- National Police Clearance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.




- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

- Experience within the utilities, construction, mining or resources sectors.
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) High Risk Work Licence.
- Current Working at Heights certification.
- Experience working on electrical infrastructure or power distribution projects.
