BCI (Bespoke Cabinetry Interiors) is a custom cabinet making company delivering high-end commercial and residential projects. We are a fully integrated design and construct business, with architects, draftspeople, estimators, schedulers, supervisors and project managers working together under one roof. That means you’ll work alongside the people who build your drawings, not hand them off and hope for the best.
The role
We’re looking for a Cabmaster Draftsperson to join our in-house design team. You’ll take concepts, architectural drawings and site measures, and turn them into accurate, buildable shop drawings and production data for our workshop. This is a full-time, in-person role.
What you’ll do
- Prepare detailed shop drawings and cabinet layouts in Cabmaster from architectural plans, design concepts and site measurements
- Generate cutting lists, hardware schedules and CNC/production data for the workshop
- Review designs for buildability, material efficiency and cost before they go to production
- Liaise with estimators, schedulers, supervisors and project managers to keep jobs on track
- Coordinate with architects, designers and clients on drawing approvals, revisions and RFIs
- Maintain drawing standards, templates and library data in Cabmaster
- Support the workshop and installers with clarifications and amendments during production and installation
About you
- Proven experience as a cabinetry draftsperson, with strong working knowledge of Cabmaster
- Trade qualification or background in Cabinet Making, or equivalent experience (highly regarded)
- Solid understanding of cabinet construction, materials, hardware and manufacturing processes
- Experience with commercial and/or residential joinery projects
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and joinery schedules
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines
- Positive communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar software (advantageous)
- Fluent English and full Australian work authorisation
