A café job with a bit more variety

We’re a family-run Hills business with three busy café locations: Upper Beaconsfield General Store, Over the Road Emerald and Over the Road Gembrook.

We’re looking for a capable café all-rounder who enjoys valuable coffee, good food and being part of a team that gets stuck in. You’ll be confident supporting coffee service and happy to help prepare and serve café food when the kitchen needs a hand.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can read the room, keep moving during a busy service and help wherever they’re needed. You won’t be stuck doing the same thing every shift.

What you’ll be doing

- Preparing and serving quality coffee, supporting the main barista during busy periods.
- Helping prepare and serve café food such as breakfasts, toasties and other straightforward menu items.
- Taking orders and providing friendly, quick service to customers.
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and ready for the next rush.
- Helping with dishes, restocking and the everyday jobs that keep a café running well.
- Working across our locations in Upper Beaconsfield, Emerald and Gembrook as needed.

What we’re looking for

- Café experience, with solid coffee skills and confidence on a commercial espresso machine.
- Comfortable helping with basic kitchen preparation and service.
- A reliable, practical team member who notices what needs doing and gets on with it.
- Someone who stays calm,



works cleanly and communicates well when it gets busy.
- Availability to work across different café locations, weekdays, weekends and some evenings.
- Reliable transport and the ability to get to our locations.

You don’t need to be a high level barista or a chef. We’re looking for someone who can support the coffee machine and confidently lend a hand with café food. You'll be alongside skilled professionals, but need to be able to help confidently. Why work with us?

Role details

- Full-time, Part Time or Casual role available.
- Work across Upper Beaconsfield, Emerald and Gembrook.
- Pay guide: $27–$35 per hour, depending on experience and capability, plus applicable award penalties and superannuation.
