We're looking for an experienced Assistant Chef to join our well-established kitchen team at Kals Café in Wolli Creek. This position is available to start immediately.
About the role
You'll support our Head Chef in the day-to-day running of a busy kitchen with an established menu. Shifts are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the possibility of additional days for the right person.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and plate dishes from our established menu to a consistent high standard
- Support the Head Chef with kitchen operations and service
- Complete food prep, stock rotation and kitchen opening/closing tasks
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times
- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team during busy service
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years' experience as a cook or chef in a commercial kitchen
- Proven experience working in a team environment
- Available every Friday,
Saturday and Sunday (additional days possible)
- Able to start immediately
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well under pressure
- Food safety knowledge; current Food Handler certificate preferred
- Full working rights in Australia
