About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef / Cook to join Gosford Private and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospitals in both part-time and casual positions.

This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your culinary expertise within the healthcare sector, where your skills will directly contribute to providing nutritious, well-prepared meals to our residents and clients. As a Chef / Cook, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and safety whilst supporting our commitment to quality care and nutrition.

Key responsibilities

- 2-3 years’ experience as a Chef/Cook
- Bulk cook chill experience is advantageous
- Modified food diet experience to IDDSI standards
- This is a Category B (Low Risk role)
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination and immunisation history is mandatory and must be provided prior to commencement of employment.

Desirable Criteria

- Recognised culinary qualification or substantial experience working as a Chef / Cook in a professional kitchen environment
- Proven experience preparing meals in a healthcare, aged care or institutional setting
- Current knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards relevant to healthcare environments
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently within time constraints
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with care staff, residents and other team members and ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
