About the role

Vantapa Pty Ltd is seeking a talented Chef/Cook to join our culinary team on a casual basis. This position is based at our venue in Canning Bridge, Applecross, WA 6153. As a Chef/Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by preparing high-quality meals that reflect our commitment to culinary excellence.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards

- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in the kitchen, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies

- Manage kitchen stations efficiently, ensuring smooth operation during service periods

- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of meals

- Monitor food quality and consistency, making adjustments as needed to meet our standards

- Maintain inventory awareness and communicate with management regarding stock levels and ordering requirements

- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients

- Maintain a clean and organised work station throughout each shift

- Respond to customer feedback and special dietary requirements with professionalism and flexibility

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a hospitality setting, ideally within a restaurant or café environment

- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen safety standards





- Competency in handling food safely with current or willingness to obtain Food Safety certification

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods

- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with the ability to take direction and contribute positively to the kitchen environment

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation

- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work casual shifts as required

- Knowledge of diverse cuisines and cooking styles is advantageous

- Experience with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
