- This fast paced, high growth Australian Energy broker is looking for an experienced interim Data & Insights leader to take control of a function that is not delivering at the pace or with the commercial impact the business needs.
- A hands-on turnaround mandate for an experienced data and insights leader.
- Take control of a function requiring sharper delivery, trusted reporting and clear commercial impact. This is an operational leadership engagement, not a strategy-only assignment.

The mandate:

- Rapidly diagnose delivery barriers, capability gaps, unclear ownership and critical dependencies.
- Reset priorities across data foundations, enterprise reporting, commercial analytics and business-critical initiatives.
- Establish a disciplined delivery cadence with milestones, accountability, escalation and decisive stop, pause or continue decisions.
- Work closely with executive leadership and the CFO to define trusted enterprise KPIs, including revenue, customers, churn and operational measures.
- Improve confidence in data quality, reporting controls,



governance and the route to a governed warehouse and catalogue.
- Deliver at least two high-value reporting or analytics outcomes that are actively used by the business.
- Assess the existing Data & Insights team, leadership model and future capability requirements.
- Recommend the future-state structure, decision rights, governance, resourcing and practical handover plan.

First 90 days:

- First 30 days: complete a rapid diagnostic, agree priority deliverables and establish an initial KPI dictionary and reporting trust assessment.
- By 60 days: show visible delivery progress, present a costed and re-sequenced plan, and clarify internal versus partner delivery choices.
- By 90 days: have priority insight outputs live, measurable improvements in delivery discipline and data reliability, and an agreed next-phase plan.

What you will bring:

- Proven interim leadership experience turning around underperforming Data & Insights functions.
- Credibility with CEOs, CFOs and senior stakeholders, combined with the willingness to work directly with data platforms, Power BI and engineering backlogs.
- Solid commercial judgement across acquisition, retention, pricing, revenue conversion and operational economics.
- Experience leading both data engineering and analytics, with practical knowledge of warehouse architecture, governance and data quality.
- A confident, pragmatic approach to team assessment, performance management, organisation design and difficult decisions.
- Experience in scaling, acquisitive or investor-backed businesses, including integration of acquired datasets, is highly valued.

Engagement: Initial three-month FTC interim commitment, with potential for a further three months based on delivery progress and transition needs. Direct executive access and authority to challenge priorities, resolve cross-functional dependencies and build a sustainable Data & Insights operating model.
