Role Overview

Experienced CNC Machinist required for a workshop-based opportunity involving the programming, setup and operation of CNC machinery to manufacture components to specification.

Candidates with experience operating CNC mills and lathes will be considered, with vertical lathe experience highly regarded.

This is a casual temp-to-permanent position, offering the chance to transition to permanent employment for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

- Program, set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture components to specification.
- Take responsibility for machine operation, productivity and the quality of finished work.
- Interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments to check dimensions and achieve required tolerances.
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as required to maintain quality.




- Follow established quality assurance procedures and workplace safety systems.
- Manage competing tasks and prioritise production requirements.
- Maintain a safe and organised work area.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Demonstrated experience programming, setting up and operating CNC machinery.
- Relevant machining experience and the ability to produce components to specified tolerances.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively.

Highly Desirable

- Experience with vertical lathes.
- Experience with CNC mills and lathes.
- Familiarity with Mazatrol, Fanuc, Okuma or Siemens control systems.
- Mastercam programming experience.
- Relevant trade qualification, such as Fitter and Machinist.
