Role Description The Commercial Manager is a full-time, Office and site role based in the Greater Perth Area, responsible for driving commercial outcomes across infrastructure, construction, and resource projects. This role includes overseeing contract and commercial management activities, such as negotiating terms, monitoring contractual performance, managing variations and claims, and ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

The Commercial

Manager will develop and implement business plans, contribute to bid and tender processes, prepare commercial reports, and support forecasting, budgeting, and risk management.



Day-to-day responsibilities also involve collaborating closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and external partners, providing clear commercial advice, and supporting dispute resolution where required. The role will lead and mentor project teams, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and promote sustainable, commercially sound practices aligned with HJA’s strategic direction.

Qualifications

- Strong commercial management capabilities, including Commercial Management and Business Planning skills.
- Proficiency in contract-focused work, such as Contract Management and experience with claims, variations, and negotiations.
- Robust Analytical Skills for financial analysis, forecasting, risk assessment, and data-driven decision making.
- Demonstrated Team Management skills, including leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or resources sectors, ideally in commercial or project-focused roles.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, law, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, proposals, and commercial documentation.
- Proven ability to work in office within project environments in the Greater Perth Area and to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience with dispute resolution, contract administration systems, and knowledge of Australian contracting standards is advantageous.
