Job Description: Technical Business Analyst, Day of Operations

Assignment: Initial 3-month engagement, with potential extension based on program needs

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst (Tech BA) to provide urgent support to the Day of Operations workstream.

The role will act as a critical link between business stakeholders, technology teams, testing and delivery , ensuring that requirements, processes, system changes and technical dependencies remain aligned as the solution continues to evolve.

This is a hands-on BA role requiring someone who combines strong business analysis discipline with technical capability . The successful candidate will be comfortable working through complex operational scenarios, challenging proposed solution changes where appropriate, maintaining requirements traceability, and supporting investigation of upstream data and integration issues.

The role will report directly to Anthony Cashin and is intended to complement the existing project and delivery capability rather than operate as a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements management and governance

- Own and maintain detailed business, functional and technical requirements for the Day of Operations solution.

- Maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and ensure it remains current as requirements, designs, defects and test scenarios evolve.

- Ensure changes identified during design, testing or defect resolution are assessed against the original requirements and appropriately documented.

- Maintain discipline around requirements and challenge proposed deviations, workarounds or scope changes where these do not adequately address the agreed business requirement.

- Support the business and existing SMEs, including John, in ensuring requirements are not unnecessarily compromised during discussions with delivery partners.

Business, technology and testing alignment

- Act as the "middle person" between business,

technology and testing teams , translating requirements and technical constraints across the different groups.

- Work closely with testers to ensure test scenarios and acceptance criteria provide appropriate coverage of business requirements.

- Assist with the analysis of defects to establish whether issues relate to requirements, solution design, data, integration, configuration or testing.

- Ensure decisions made during defect resolution are reflected back into requirements, process documentation, RTM and test artefacts.

Process analysis

- Develop and maintain end-to-end process maps , including Day of Operations processes and relevant upstream and downstream interactions.

- Ensure process maps are updated when business processes or solution behaviour changes.

- Identify gaps, hand-offs, dependencies and areas where the implemented solution does not align with the intended operational process.

- Support assessment of impacts when changes are proposed.

Technical and data analysis

- Provide technical analysis support to Anthony, particularly in relation to upstream data fields, data mappings and interfaces .

- Understand data flows across source systems, integrations and the Day of Operations solution.

- Assist in identifying data-field dependencies, transformation or mapping issues and discrepancies between source-system data and expected downstream behaviour.

- Work effectively with technical teams to translate business scenarios into transparent technical and data requirements.

Stakeholder and vendor engagement

- Facilitate structured discussions between business SMEs, testers, technology teams and delivery partners.

- Constructively challenge delivery-partner assumptions and proposed solutions to ensure they satisfy agreed requirements rather than simply resolving the immediate technical issue.

- Provide clear evidence and traceability when requirements are being challenged or interpreted differently.

- Support decision-making by clearly articulating business impacts, technical dependencies, risks and options.

Essential Experience and Capabilities

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

- Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst within a complex technology or business transformation program.

- Proven ability to operate across both business and technology domains .

- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and requirements-management capability.

- Practical experience maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) and managing requirements through design, build, testing and defect resolution.

- Strong process-mapping skills, with experience maintaining end-to-end processes as solutions evolve.

- Experience working closely with System Integration Testing, UAT and business acceptance/testing teams .

- Solid technical analysis capability, particularly involving data fields, data mapping, interfaces and upstream/downstream system dependencies .

- Ability to investigate complex issues across process, requirements, data, system behaviour and testing.

- Confidence to challenge stakeholders and delivery partners where proposed changes do not align with agreed requirements.

- Strong facilitation and communication skills, particularly the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving program where requirements and solution details may continue to evolve.
