About The Role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cooks Assistant at Bert Newton Retirement Village in Highett. This is a part time role working Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 1200 - 1700. As a Cooks Assistant at Ryman, you will help deliver a dining experience that challenges traditional perceptions of retirement living and care centre cuisine. Our menus offer more choice, greater variety and an elevated dining experience for our residents.

In this role you will:

- Assist the Senior Lead Chef and Chefs in preparing meals for our care and residential residents in accordance with menu requirements.
- Ensure meals are nutritious, high quality, well prepared and presented, and meet the specific dietary needs of our residents.
- Assist with food preparation, plating and presentation to support the delivery of an exceptional dining experience.
- Prepare ingredients and support food production for fine dining evenings, village functions, cafés and bars.
- Adhere to all practices relating to food hygiene, preparation, storage and disposal.
- Work closely with and support your team and colleagues.

About You To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery – working towards desirable but not essential
- Certificate - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices HLTFSE001
- Proven experience working in a similar high-volume catering, aged care, healthcare or food service environment.
- A strong understanding of food hygiene, safe food handling and kitchen cleanliness standards.




- Experience and understanding of IDDSI - Texture Modified Food Framework highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills.
- A reliable, friendly and professional manner.
