About the role The Delivery Driver is an important member of the Bannister Downs Dairy distribution team and is responsible for the safe, accurate and timely delivery of fresh dairy products to customers throughout the Perth metropolitan area and other areas as required. The role combines driving, order picking and loading, customer service, product handling and general distribution duties. As one of the regular points of contact between Bannister Downs Dairy and customers, Delivery Drivers are important representatives of the business.
A friendly, professional and helpful approach to customers is essential. The position is based at the Bibra Lake Distribution Centre and requires early morning starts to meet customer delivery requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Safely operate refrigerated delivery vehicles to deliver Bannister Downs Dairy products to customers
- Complete allocated delivery runs efficiently and within required delivery timeframes
- Ensure deliveries are made to the correct customer and designated delivery location
- Follow customer-specific delivery instructions, including access, placement and site requirements
- Maintain the cold chain and ensure dairy products are handled appropriately throughout the delivery process
- Accurately pick customer orders in accordance with delivery documentation and system information
- Load vehicles safely and efficiently, taking into consideration delivery sequence, product protection and safe load distribution
- Provide friendly,
professional and reliable service to Bannister Downs Dairy customers
- Conduct required pre-start and safety checks on allocated vehicles
- Comply with Bannister Downs Dairy food safety, hygiene and quality procedures
About you
- Current LR (Light Rigid) driver's licence at a minimum
- Minimum 6 months' delivery driving experience
- Demonstrated safe driving record and commitment to road safety
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently to delivery schedules and timeframes
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when picking and delivering customer orders
- Ability to undertake the physical requirements associated with delivery work, including regular loading, unloading and handling of dairy products
- Ability and willingness to commence work early in the morning
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
