Shangri-La Sydney is currently recruiting Demi Chef to join our Altitude Kitchen.

We are looking for passionate and eager individuals with at least 2 years experience within an upmarket a la carte restaurant or 5 Star Hotel operation and previous experience at a Commis or Demi Chef level.

About the role

- Participates in the preparation, cooking and presentation of food for the respective outlet.
- Participates in the creation of recent menus and dishes.
- Prepares and ensures that all food is prepared and served according to the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney standards and procedures.
- Assists in ensuring that all kitchen equipment is in good working order.
- Informs the Chef de Partie on repair and maintenance needs.
- Assists in maintaining the kitchen and other related areas in highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Competitive rates in accordance with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (HIGA) as a Cook Grade 4.

About You

- Holder of Certificate in Commercial Cookery
- Must have a valid full working rights
- Experience in a Hotel environment or similar
