We are seeking a dedicated and organised Dental Assistant to join our family run practice 4 days per week ( no weekends). Our modern dental practice is located in North Sydney. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the dentist in providing high-quality dental care.
Your role will be instrumental in ensuring our practice runs smoothly and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the dentist during treatment procedures, including passing instruments and maintaining the surgical field
- Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all equipment is sterile, functional and properly maintained
- Taking and processing dental radiographs (X-rays) following appropriate safety protocols
- Mixing and preparing dental materials, cements and other compounds as required
- Welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintaining infection control and sterilisation procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Helping to manage inventory for ordering of dental supplies and material
What we're looking for
- Previous training and experience in a dental practice environment would be advantageous.
- A good knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients
- High level of organisational ability and attention to detail
- Proficiency in general computer skills
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and qualified ethics
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in a dental practice is highly desirable
