Dental Assistant | Peace of Mind Dental, Bundaberg East

Employment Type: Casual (Full-time option after 3 months); 38 hours per week Working Days / Hours: Monday to Friday 7:45am - 5:45pm

Our team is growing again! With a new dentist starting in 2027, we are looking to add a few more staff to our tight-knit team.

We are a family owned and managed dental clinic based in Bundaberg East since 2008, with the practice owner and principal dentist Dr Philip Makepeace being a respected long-term provider in the area with over 40 years of experience. We pride ourselves on making sure our patients have a comfortable experience with us, ensuring their best interests at every step of the way.

YOUR ROLE To support our dental care providers in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to all of our patients. Our dental assistants work chairside during clinical procedures, maintain infection control standards, manage equipment sterilisation and processing, and keep the clinical rooms clean, organised, and ready to go. Being a small team, you may also be asked to assist with some light reception / admin duties on quiet days.

QUALIFICATIONS





- Current experience or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting is highly regarded; however, we encourage all candidates with a genuine passion for a career in dental assisting to apply.
- Demonstrated chair-side assistance skills, including instrument handling, suction, mixing materials, assisting with X-rays, and sound knowledge of dental instrumentation is favourable but not necessary.
- Additional understanding of dental implant procedures and orthodontics will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of infection control, with the ability to clean, prepare, and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment according to NSQPCH standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, patient-focused approach and the ability to thrive in a quick-paced, modern dental practice while contributing positively to a supportive team culture.
