The Role
Join Coogee and play a key role in keeping our warehouse, dispatch, and distribution operations running safely and efficiently.
We are seeking an experienced and safety focused Despatch Operator reporting to the Despatch Supervisor to support the movement of finished goods, raw materials, and consumables to customers and depot locations. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of transport vehicles, filling of IBC’s and managing product movements while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance across the dispatch function.
This position is ideal for an experienced forklift operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of transport vehicles carrying Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs).
- Filling of IBC’s using IBC filling station
- Safely operate forklifts to move products within the dispatch and storage areas.
- Prepare, check, and verify dispatch documentation and consignment details.
- Ensure products are loaded and secured in accordance with safety and transport requirements.
- Handle and manage dangerous goods in compliance with relevant legislation, company procedures, and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-start equipment inspections and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock movement records.
- Support housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives within the dispatch area.
About You To be successful, you will have:
- Current LF Forklift Licence (essential).
- Current Queensland Class C Driver's Licence.
- Experience operating reach and/or double-deep reach forklifts.
- Previous experience within warehousing, logistics, or dispatch operations.
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods storage and transport requirements.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment.
- A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
Highly Regarded
- Experience within the chemical, manufacturing, or dangerous goods industry.
- Knowledge of ADG requirements.
- International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) qualification.
