Overview

Lead the design, configuration and national deployment of Ramsay’s MediTech Expanse Patient Administration System, driving operational improvement and lasting transformation across its Australian hospital network.

The organisation

Ramsay Health Care is an Australian-founded healthcare organisation and one of the country’s leading private healthcare providers, caring for 1.2 million Australians each year across 76 hospitals, 37 Ramsay Plus clinics and 102 Ramsay Pharmacies.

Supported by 35,000 employees and partnerships with 9,000 doctors, Ramsay provides services spanning primary care, complex surgery, mental health, rehabilitation and pharmacy. It is now undertaking a major transformation of its Australian operations, focused on modernising systems, processes and capabilities while responding to evolving models of care and the opportunities presented by digital technology, data and AI.

The opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead Ramsay’s national MediTech Expanse Program on a two-year fixed-term contract, overseeing a major technology and operational transformation initiative that will modernise the Patient Administration System (PAS) underpinning its Australian hospital network.

Reporting to the General Manager, Revenue Cycle Management, the Director will oversee the design, configuration and phased implementation of MediTech Expanse, replacing Ramsay’s legacy platform and establishing a more integrated, standardised and digitally enabled operating environment.

The program represents significantly more than a system replacement. It provides an opportunity to fundamentally review and optimise the workflows, processes and practices supporting patient administration, clinical operations, coding and billing. With a phased national rollout planned, the Director will be responsible for translating this ambition into a disciplined and achievable delivery program.

Operating at Group level, the Director will lead a substantial multidisciplinary program team, overseeing complex delivery requirements and working closely with the Director, RCM Transformation Program to ensure alignment with Ramsay’s broader transformation agenda.

Key responsibilities will include

- Leading the end-to-end design, configuration, testing and phased national deployment of MediTech Expanse across Ramsay’s hospital network
- Establishing and maintaining disciplined program governance, delivery plans, financial oversight,

performance reporting and risk management
- Driving the review and optimisation of operational workflows and processes, ensuring the new system enables improved ways of working rather than replicating existing practices
- Leading multidisciplinary teams, managing interdependencies, resources and competing priorities to maintain delivery momentum
- Securing executive commitment, navigating competing perspectives and building alignment across Group, hospital leadership, operational teams and external technology partners
- Overseeing system integration, operational readiness, training, change management and post-implementation support to ensure successful adoption
- Ensuring alignment with the broader RCM Transformation Program and accountability for delivering business case benefits and sustainable operational improvements

This is a significant opportunity to lead a complex national implementation that will shape the future of Ramsay’s hospital operations. With substantial executive exposure and a mandate extending beyond technology delivery, the role offers the opportunity to establish more effective, standardised and integrated ways of working across one of Australia’s largest private healthcare networks.

About you

You are an accomplished program and transformation leader with demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-stream initiatives across large organisations. Your experience may have been gained through technology implementation, operational transformation or broader executive leadership, but what distinguishes you is your ability to bring structure, discipline and momentum to complex programs while maintaining a transparent focus on delivery outcomes.

You are a confident and influential leader who can navigate competing priorities, constructively challenge established thinking and build commitment to change. You recognise that successful transformation requires more than technical delivery, and bring the judgement, resilience and interpersonal capability to engage people at all levels, manage resistance and take them on the journey.

You will bring

- Significant leadership experience delivering complex, multi-year transformation or technology implementation programs across large organisations
- Demonstrated success managing multiple delivery streams, complex interdependencies and geographically dispersed implementation environments
- Robust program management capability, including governance, financial oversight, resource planning, risk management and executive reporting
- An understanding of operational processes and workflows, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation through technology
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and leveraging specialist technical and operational expertise to achieve delivery outcomes
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with a focus on delivering measurable business benefits and sustainable operational improvements
- The ability to balance strategic oversight with practical involvement in resolving complex delivery challenges and maintaining program momentum
- Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing executive and senior stakeholders across multiple functions, including Technology, Operations and Finance, to navigate competing priorities and drive program outcomes.

While experience within healthcare, particularly in the implementation of Patient Administration Systems, would be well regarded, Ramsay is open to considering accomplished leaders from a broad range of sectors and professional backgrounds. Of greater importance is a demonstrated track record of delivering complex, large-scale transformation or technology implementation programs, combined with strong people leadership, sound judgement and the ability to draw on specialist expertise to deliver lasting operational improvement.
