Gold Coast Doggy Daycare
Bundall
We’re looking for a reliable, experienced dog care professional who’s ready to help lead our team at Gold Coast Doggy Daycare.
This is a hands on role combining dog care, team leadership, customer service and daily administration. You’ll work closely with the owner operator and help create a safe, well-organised and welcoming environment for our dogs, clients and team.
About us
We’re a fully indoor, air-conditioned dog daycare in Bundall. Our dogs are grouped by temperament, energy and play style, with a daily balance of supervised play, enrichment and rest.
We take the time to get to know each dog and recognise when they need extra support, a quieter activity or a break.
About the role
As Assistant Manager, you will:
- Support the owner operator with the daily running of daycare and take the lead in their absence.
- Guide the team, coordinate daily tasks and lead by example.
- Supervise dog playgroups, recognise body language and intervene early to manage excitement or inappropriate play.
- Ensure dogs receive suitable rest, enrichment and individual care.
- Welcome clients at drop-off and pick-up, answer enquiries and provide clear updates about their dogs.
- Assist with bookings, client records and daily administration.
- Maintain high standards of cleaning, hygiene and presentation.
- Follow our procedures, keep accurate records and respond calmly to incidents or concerns.
- Assist with opening and closing duties.
Cleaning and physical work are a regular part of this role, so you’ll need to be comfortable being on your feet and getting involved in all aspects of daycare.
About you
Essential:
- Previous skilled experience in dog daycare, boarding, veterinary nursing, dog training or a similar setting.
- Confidence handling dogs with different temperaments, energy levels and play styles.
- A sound understanding of dog body language, safe handling and group supervision.
- The ability to give clear direction, support colleagues and address concerns professionally.
- Friendly, confident communication with clients and team members.
- Reliability, initiative and strong attention to detail.
- Availability for weekday shifts, including opening and closing shifts as required.
Desirable:
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Relevant animal-care or veterinary nursing qualifications.
- Pet first aid training.
- Experience using Gingr or a similar booking system.
- Grooming or bathing experience.
What we offer
- A varied role combining animal care, leadership and customer service.
- A fully indoor, air-conditioned workplace.
- The opportunity to work closely with the owner and contribute ideas.
- The chance to build ongoing relationships with our dogs and their families.
