Donor Communications & Engagement Coordinator – Part time
North Adelaide | Permanent, Part-Time https://childhoodcancer.asn.au/
About the Organisation For 44 years, the Childhood Cancer Association (CCA) has supported South Australian children with cancer and their families, delivering free, non-medical support to around 450 families a year. CCA is entirely self-funded, so every dollar raised goes straight into these services.
At CCA, everyone's work is ultimately in service of one goal: supporting children with cancer and their families. The culture is built on a simple internal motto, "having each other's back," which shows up as respect, kindness and honesty in how the team treats colleagues and donors alike, along with a genuine sense of ownership and a willingness to help without being asked.
About the Role
CCA is looking for a Donor Communications & Engagement Coordinator to plan and deliver targeted communications that strengthen relationships with supporters. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, you'll help build strong, lasting relationships with CCA supporters through targeted communications, donor stewardship and engagement activity across email, direct mail, social and web. This is a hands-on coordinator-level role: you'll work together with the Marketing & Communications Manager to deliver the strategy, bring campaigns and supporter journeys to life, and identify opportunities for improvement.
This role will suit someone who is a great communicator and finds meaning in work that contributes to something larger than their day-to-day tasks, who's motivated as much by purpose as by the specifics of the job itself,
and who feels genuinely at ease with the sensitivity of supporting families who have a child with cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and coordinate donor communications across direct mail, email, social and web
- Plan campaign timelines and production schedules
- Deliver meaningful supporter stewardship and engagement journeys, with a particular focus on regular givers, including welcome, care, retention and reactivation activity
- Identify and coordinate opportunities to improve the supporter experience, engagement and retention across all of CCA’s fundraising and communications activities
- Use CCA's database (Raiser's Edge NXT) and other tools to support reporting and campaign insights to deliver personalised communications and engagement opportunities.
About You
- 3 years' fundraising experience in the not-for-profit sector, ideally retention or stewardship-focused
OR, 3 years’ experience in a communications role with excellent customer service skills
- An effective communicator who has a genuine interest in understanding what motivates supporters and creating communications and experiences that make them feel valued and connected to CCA’s work
- As a bonus, be comfortable working in a donor database or CRM (such as Raiser's Edge NXT) and open to using AI-enabled tools in your day-to-day work
- Strong attention to detail
What's On Offer
• Permanent, part-time role (approximately 3 days/week) in the North Adelaide office
- Access to salary packaging of up to $15,900 tax-free per year, as an employee of a not-for-profit
- The chance to make a difference to South Australian families of children with cancer
- A close-knit, supportive team
