Early Childhood Teacher – Room Leader

Position: Full-Time – 12-Month Contract

Commencement Date: 28 January 2027

Are you a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher looking for an opportunity to lead a room and make a positive difference in the lives of young children?

Gunnedah Baptist Community Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team as a Room Leader.

We are a not-for-profit, community-based preschool in Gunnedah, NSW, committed to providing a warm, supportive and engaging environment where children feel valued, develop confidence and enjoy learning through play.

We believe in creating a balance between intentional teaching and child-led play, allowing children to explore their interests, develop new skills and build meaningful relationships.

About the Role

As Room Leader, you will lead and support your room team to provide a high-quality educational program that reflects our Preschool philosophy and supports each child's learning, development and wellbeing.

You will work collaboratively with our educators to create a positive, inclusive and engaging environment where children can thrive.

Essential Requirements

- An approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification.

- Relevant experience in early childhood education, including the ability to lead a room and support a team.

- Current First Aid qualification relevant to early childhood settings, including CPR.





- Current Working with Children Check.

- Current Child Safety Training, or willingness to complete the required training.

- A sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework.

- Solid communication, organisational and teamwork skills.

- A genuine commitment to children's safety, wellbeing, learning and development.
