Rexco People is currently seeking an experienced Trade Skilled Worker – Electrical to join a well-established electrical workshop based in Marleston North.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Tradesperson with a strong technical background to work on the testing, refurbishment and manufacture of specialised electrical equipment, including transformers and high-voltage (HV) components.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, mechanically minded and confident working with electrical equipment in a workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Testing, inspecting and refurbishing electrical transformers.
- Refurbishing and testing a range of electrical equipment, including voltage regulators and HV Ring Main Units.
- Manufacturing specialised electrical equipment and components, including earth leads, HV bus taps and HV barrier boards.
- Constructing Low Voltage (LV) arrangements for padmount transformers.
- Carrying out electrical testing and quality inspections to ensure equipment meets required specifications.
- Identifying faults, defects and maintenance requirements during testing and refurbishment.
- Using workshop tools, equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Following technical specifications,
work instructions and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and protected workshop environment.
Skills & Experience To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- A current and unrestricted Electrical Licence – essential.
- A current driver's licence – essential.
- Previous experience in electrical workshop, manufacturing or maintenance environments.
- A mechanical background or strong mechanical aptitude will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge or previous experience working with High Voltage (HV) equipment is highly desirable.
- A current forklift licence – advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
