About the role

One Crew Electrical & HVAC is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician specialising in split system installations to join our growing team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane, QLD 4000, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality electrical installation and maintenance services for split system air conditioning units across South East Queensland.

As an Electrician - Split System Installs, you will be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring that every installation meets our exacting standards and complies with all relevant Australian electrical codes and regulations. This role is essential to our business objectives, as we continue to expand our presence in the HVAC sector and build a reputation for excellence in split system electrical work.

What you'll be doing

- Installing electrical components for split system air conditioning units, including conduits, cabling, switchboards and control systems
- Testing and commissioning electrical systems on newly installed split system units to ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults in existing split system installations
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on split system electrical components
- Liaising with HVAC technicians and other tradespeople to coordinate seamless installation projects
- Ensuring all work complies with the Australian Standard AS/NZS 3000 (Electrical Installations) and other relevant electrical codes and regulations
- Maintaining accurate documentation of all work completed, including job sheets and safety records
- Conducting safety inspections and identifying potential hazards on job sites
- Providing excellent customer service and communicating effectively with clients about project progress and timelines
- Travelling to various locations across South East Queensland to complete installations and maintenance work





What we're looking for

- A current, valid electrical licence (Level 2 or equivalent) issued by the relevant Australian electrical authority
- Demonstrated experience in split system air conditioning electrical installations and commissioning
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and other Australian electrical standards applicable to HVAC systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings, particularly those related to split system units
- Experience using electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters, insulation testers and circuit analysers
- A solid understanding of refrigerant systems and how they interface with electrical components
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices, including working at heights and in confined spaces where applicable
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transport, as this role requires travel throughout South East Queensland
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions
- Preferred: Experience with commercial or industrial split system installations and an understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
