- Shape how leaders manage their people
- Own complex ER cases end to end
- Make an impact from day one
deliberatepractice is partnering with a client whose People & Culture team is leading a significant uplift in capability and performance across the organisation. We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join them on a contract basis. You’ll manage ER matters end to end and help leaders get more confident handling their people issues and team performance.
About the role
You’ll own a varied ER caseload from first contact to resolution. You’ll also coach leaders so they have the skills and confidence to deal with issues early and fairly. This is a hands-on role where good advice and a practical approach will make a real difference.
Key responsibilities
- Manage ER cases end to end, including performance, conduct, grievances, complaints and workplace conflict
- Plan and run workplace investigations, or oversee external investigators where needed, and prepare clear, defensible findings and reports
- Advise and coach leaders on performance management, underperformance and disciplinary processes
- Give accurate advice on contemporary awards,
enterprise agreements, the Fair Work Act and relevant policies
- Support colleagues who are dealing with matters before the Fair Work Commission, including unfair dismissal and general protections claims
- Help with absence management, return-to-work and reasonable adjustment matters
- Track ER data and trends, and report insights that help P&C; focus on prevention
About you
- Solid ER experience, ideally in a fast-paced or complex organisation
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial instruments
- Proven investigation experience and sound judgement on sensitive matters
- A trusted, pragmatic adviser who builds credibility with leaders quickly
- Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage a busy caseload
- Available to start promptly
Details: 3-month+ contract
WFH (hybrid) available
If you’re an ER professional who enjoys building leader capability as much as resolving complex cases, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now or contact Michelle Collins at deliberatepractice for a confidential conversation.
