THE PROSPECT

Reporting to the General Manager - Operations, the Event Manager leads the planning and delivery of major events across the EMQ portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of assigned events from commencement through to post-event evaluation.

- Manage event operations including site builds, logistics, traffic and pedestrian management, supplier coordination and event-day delivery.

- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring expenditure aligns with approved financial parameters.

- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local government authorities, contractors, sponsors, emergency services and key stakeholders.

- Develop event management plans, operational schedules, run sheets and risk management documentation.

- Support the implementation of Work Health and Safety requirements and event compliance obligations.

- Assist with the recruitment, training and management of event staff, volunteers and contractors.





- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance event delivery, operational efficiency and participant experience.

ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in event management, event operations, project management or a similar role.

- Qualifications in Event Management, Sport Management, Project Management or a related discipline.

- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale events, sporting events or tourism-related activations.

- Strong experience managing event budgets, suppliers and operational logistics.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Current Queensland Driver Licence.

- Experience within the sport, tourism or major events industry will be highly regarded.
