ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator with a strong civil background to join our delivery team on the Haystone Project. Operating up-to-date 14T to 24T Sumitomo excavators within a productive 6-person site crew, you will be responsible for structural civil earthworks, precision precast placements, and structural backfilling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Precast Installation: Precision handling, placement, and alignment of precast concrete blocks.
- Structural Fill Operations: Backfilling retaining walls with aggregate and executing Level 1 reinforced filling

on grid retaining wall systems.
- Final Trim Works: Maintaining tight tolerances, trimming to subgrade levels, and assisting with batters and

benches (final trim skills highly regarded).
- Plant Operation: Safe, productive operation of onsite 14T to 24T Sumitomo excavators.
- Team Collaboration: Working seamlessly alongside pipe layers, spotters, and ground crew to maintain high

daily production and job safety.
- Maintenance:



Conducting mandatory daily pre-start inspections and routine operational plant upkeep.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Proven experience as an excavator operator on civil infrastructure or subdivision projects.

Prior experience working within a pipe crew or installing civil pits and culverts is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability in structural aggregate backfilling and geogrid reinforced wall installations.

Final trim capability is highly regarded.

Must-Have Mandatory Licences & Tickets:

- Valid full driver's licence
- Excavator ticket (RII standard or recognized equivalent)
- Track loader ticket
- Telehandler ticket / licence
- General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Committed approach to workplace health, safety, exclusion zones, and site risk management.
