About the Role

Swan River Civil is a growing Perth-based civil earthmoving business seeking a skilled, safety-conscious, and hands-on HC Tipper Truck Driver to join our team.

Operating a modern automatic 6-wheeler tip truck and 3-axle dog tipper trailer, you will be hauling material across Perth metro civil sites, sand pits, and quarries.

Important Note on Experience:

This is not a straightforward highway or bitumen transport role. We require an operator who truly understands offroad driving dynamics on soft sand, unsealed gravel, variable terrain, and uneven elevations—particularly when manoeuvring and tipping with a dog trailer attached. Equipment stability and site safety are critical.

Key Responsibilities

· Safe Operation: Transport and tipping of bulk materials using a 6-wheel automatic tipper + 3-axle dog trailer across civil sites, sand pits, and quarries.

· Site Navigation: Navigating tight, soft, or unstable site access roads safely without risking rollover or damage to gear.

· Maintenance & Restraint: Daily pre-start inspections, vehicle maintenance logging, and ensuring load restraint/tarping safety.

· Hands-on Teamwork:



Being physically fit and ready to assist on site—jumping on hand tools, plate compactors, or helping crews when required.

What We Are Looking For

· Licence: Minimum current valid Heavy Combination (HC).

· Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience driving heavy tippers, including specific experience in quarries, sand pits, and active civil earthworks sites.

· Offroad Competency: Proven capability handling soft ground, unsealed tracks, and tight manoeuvres with a dog trailer attached.

· Fitness: Physically fit, reliable, and possessing a good attitude toward ground-level site assistance.

· Desirable: Any current Civil Machinery / Plant Tickets (e.g., Skid Steer, Excavator, Loader) are highly desirable but not mandatory.

· Compliance: Willingness to undergo a basic Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screen.

Pay & Shift Structure

· Yard-to-Yard Pay: Your paid shift starts and finishes at our Hazelmere yard (~6:30am – 4:30pm daily).

· Overtime / Weekends: Primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work scheduled and communicated clearly in advance.

· Path to Permanent: We are looking for someone to become an integral part of our core team. Prove your reliability and capability, and this position will progress into a permanent role.
