About the role A varied and hands-on role in a commercial avocado orchard involving picking, equipment operation, tree maintenance, and farm management activities.

Key responsibilities

- Picking avocados from a Hydralada

- Using a forklift to place crates in a cold room

- Pruning trees to facilitate access while picking

- Mowing and spraying weeds with a Quik Spray

- Foliar sprays with a Quantum mist sprayer

- Mulching with a Vermeer BC 1500 and spreading mulch with a Kuhn spreader

- Irrigation system maintenance and repair

- Fertigation system maintenance and repair

- Maintaining farm equipment, sheds, work areas and access roads

- Assisting with minor mechanical repairs and maintenance

- Identifying and reporting equipment faults and orchard issues

- Following workplace health and safety procedures

About you

- Chemical handling qualifications, including ChemCERT or equivalent





- Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake demanding outdoor manual work

- Previous experience operating tractors

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

- Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude

- Ability to follow instructions and work safely

- Good attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Knowledge of avocado tree pruning and orchard management

- Mechanical aptitude and experience undertaking basic machinery repairs and servicing
