Our client, a State Government organisation, is seeking motivated and reliable Field Assistants to join the National Fire Ant Eradication Program based at the Aratula Depot. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an important national biosecurity initiative while enjoying outstanding conditions and stability.

Start Times: Between 6:30am and 7:00am

Pay Rate: $35.06 (awaiting approval for an increase)

We have multiple ongoing roles available, offering an attractive hourly rate and strong team culture.

As a Field Assistant, you will play a key part in the surveillance and treatment of Fire Ants across the Aratula region. The role involves working outdoors, travelling to site locations, and helping protect Queensland's environment, industries, and communities.

Key Duties

- Driving up to one hour from the depot to access site locations
- Conducting visual surveillance and bait treatments
- Completing daily reporting, data entry, and record keeping
- Accurately collecting and inputting information using a tablet
- Working safely and effectively in outdoor environments

Skills & Requirements

- Current Australian Open C-Class Driver Licence
- Ability to work well within a team
- Customer service experience (desirable)
- Physically fit — able to walk 10-15 km per day across challenging terrain
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to complete and pass a National Police Check
