We’re a field sales and merchandising agency with a field team of 3500+ merchandisers, working with some of Australia’s most recognised FMCG brands. We’re partnering with one of them on a dedicated national independent grocery team, and we need a Field Sales Manager to lead it.

This role is all about the accounts and the people. You’ll be the main contact for the Tier 1 and 2 MSO groups at head office level and for the Metcash account, and the person the business relies on to grow its presence in independents.

You’ll also manage a team of five Territory Managers across the mainland states, calling on around 600 independent stores a month.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Building and managing head office relationships with Tier 1 and 2 MSO groups
- Presenting ranging, promotional and display opportunities, negotiating activity and reviewing results with each group
- Managing the Metcash account across IGA, Foodland, FoodWorks, Friendly Grocer and other banners, including ranging, warehouse availability,



promotional calendars and recent listings
- Closing the gaps between ranged, allocated, ordered and on shelf
- Planning promotions and volumes ahead of time and briefing the team so execution lands in every store
- Leading, coaching and managing the performance of five Territory Managers, with regular time in the field
- Setting store priorities and call cycles across the team
- Reporting monthly on distribution, activity and results

You’ll be based on site with our client in Greater Western Sydney five days a week, with regular interstate travel to spend time with your team and your groups. If you’re an experienced field sales leader with strong independent grocery experience, established MSO group and Metcash relationships (Queensland and NSW groups are a plus), and a track record of managing Territory Manager or merchandising teams, apply now.
