1 Accountant/ Bookkeeper

Allara Global is growing fast, with new markets, new products, new partnerships, and a global client base spanning hospitality groups across Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Europe and the US. As we scale, we need a finance manager who can own the numbers and help shape where the business goes next.

We’re looking for a Finance Manager who wants to have a real strategic impact, without full-time hours. You’ll be the CEO’s right hand on all things financial, the person he turns to for clear insight, honest advice and a commercial view. Starting at two days a week in our amazing Sydney CBD office, with flexibility to step up when the business needs it, you’ll run the finance function, and take your place as part of the leadership team.

This isn’t a “close the books and go home” role. As Allara Global grows, so does this role. Expect some flexibility, with more days as required and genuine scope to grow for the right person.

What you’ll do

■ Own the finance function, setting the standard for accuracy, controls and timeliness across a fast-moving global business.

■ Lead, support and develop our in-house accountant, building a tight, reliable finance engine that runs smoothly between your days in the office.

■ Review weekly, month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounts, for accuracy, timeliness and compliance.

■ Prepare the financials for reporting and pull together polished, decision-ready documents.

■ Drive cash flow forecasting and budgeting so the business always knows where it stands and where it’s heading.

■ Oversee the company’s tax obligations, making sure every lodgement is accurate and on time.

■ Monitor credit cards and expenditure, keeping spend visible, controlled and aligned to budget.

■ Bring a commercial lens to pricing, partnerships and current market opportunities, helping the leadership team make confident, well-informed calls.





■ Streamline the finance function as the business grows. There are plenty of opportunities for you to make your mark with process improvements!

■ Work with external advisors on aspects of the company’s taxation, legal requirements, grant applications and reporting lodgements.

■ Walk hand in hand with the CEO as his go-to for financial insight, turning numbers into transparent, commercial advice that helps shape strategy and growth.

What you’ll bring

■ Accounting qualification, with experience leading a finance function in an SME, scale-up or growth business.

■ Experience preparing reports, including preparing and presenting financials to senior leaders.

■ Strong cash flow forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting skills, with genuine attention to detail.

■ Commercial acumen. You see beyond the numbers to the story they tell and the decisions they should drive.

■ External advice experience. Experience liaising with external consultants on reviewing commercial agreements, such as partner, reseller or supplier contracts, or insurance documents.

■ Confidence leading a small team, even on a part-time schedule.

■ Cloud accounting experience; exposure to SaaS, eLearning, hospitality or multi-currency international operations is a big plus, but not essential.

■ Genuinely hands-on. You’re comfortable getting into the weeds, and being involved in the detail of the numbers.
