About the Roles:

We are looking for friendly, reliable and customer-focused hospitality professionals to join the team at Southern Cross Hotel on a casual basis, with opportunities available for both Food & Beverage Attendants and Gaming Attendants.

Food & Beverage Attendant

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to build their experience in hospitality. Previous food and beverage experience is preferred but not essential, as we're happy to train someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

You'll be involved in the day-to-day operation of the venue, helping deliver efficient service across our food and beverage areas. From taking orders and serving customers to keeping the venue clean and well-presented, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for our guests.

Gaming Attendant

We're looking for an experienced Gaming Attendant with a strong understanding of gaming operations who enjoys working in a busy local pub and delivering professional service to regular patrons.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the gaming area, providing friendly and attentive service while maintaining high standards of responsible gaming, compliance and presentation. You'll need to be confident working across the gaming floor, managing your responsibilities independently and supporting the wider team to ensure the venue runs smoothly.

Weekend availability is essential for both positions,



with flexibility to work across busy trading periods.

Key Responsibilities:

Food & Beverage Attendant:

- Provide friendly, efficient and professional service to customers
- Take customer orders and serve food and beverages
- Assist with bar, bistro and general food and beverage operations as required
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented service area
- Support the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
- Follow responsible service of alcohol requirements and venue procedures
- Assist with setting up and packing down service areas
- Respond to customer requests and enquiries in a helpful and professional manner
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a positive guest experience

Gaming Attendant:

- Operate and monitor gaming machines in line with venue procedures
- Provide friendly, professional and attentive service to gaming patrons
- Monitor the gaming area and maintain a clean, safe and well-presented environment
- Follow responsible gaming practices and all relevant compliance requirements
- Assist patrons with gaming-related enquiries in a skilled manner
- Complete gaming procedures, reporting and reconciliation as required
- Work confidently and independently while maintaining strong service standards
- Communicate effectively with the wider team and management
- Assist with venue closing procedures as required

About You:

- Previous hospitality or food and beverage experience is preferred but not essential for the Food & Beverage Attendant position




- At least 1 year of gaming experience is essential for the Gaming Attendant position
- Hold a current RSA and RCG (essential)
- Ideally hold a current ARCG qualification (for the Gaming Attendant position)
- Weekend availability is essential
- Friendly, approachable and customer-focused attitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Understanding of responsible service and compliance requirements relevant to your role
- Reliable, punctual and professional, with a strong eye for detail
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Willing to assist across different areas of the venue when required
