About Hospo AI
We're building the AI-powered operating system for the hospitality industry — and we're looking for an exceptional Founding CTO to take up the next step.
Hospo AI is an ambitious Australian technology startup developing an AI-native intelligence platform purpose-built for restaurants and cafés.
Our platform connects and analyses a venue's existing technology ecosystem — including point-of-sale, workforce management, inventory, accounting and payments — transforming fragmented operational data into actionable intelligence.
Acting as a "second brain" for hospitality operators, Hospo AI empowers businesses to increase revenue, reduce unnecessary costs, optimise pricing, improve workforce efficiency and ultimately drive profitability.
With access to an established national hospitality industry network, strong commercial relationships and a clear pathway to pilot customers, we're positioning Hospo AI to become an essential technology partner for hospitality businesses across Australia and beyond.
We're not building another dashboard. We're building the intelligent operating system that helps hospitality businesses make better decisions, every day.
We’re looking for a full-stack engineer to own the technical side of Hospo AI, from architecture and infrastructure through to the interface our customers use every day. This role combines engineering with UI design and product input,
so you’ll be comfortable moving between writing backend APIs, refining a component’s design and helping the product team decide what to build next.
Day to day, you will:
- Architect and maintain our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, including PostgreSQL data schemas, Azure Key Vault, authentication and CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and scale our web application using React and C#/.NET, and lead the cross-platform mobile build in React Native for iOS and Android.
- Turn rough wireframes and UX concepts into polished, production-ready UI, design tokens and reusable components.
- Work with the product leads to assess technical feasibility, break specifications into engineering milestones and shape the release roadmap.
- Design and build third-party API and webhook integrations with hospitality platforms, and act as the main technical contact for partner engineering teams.
- Implement application security, including encryption, secure credential handling and role-based access controls, and lay the groundwork for future ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certification.
- Build agentic AI features using Azure AI Foundry, including tool-calling and retrieval pipelines that power an assistant that can answer venue-specific questions, take actions through chat, generate reports and run scheduled workflows.
- Run end-to-end QA and integration testing, and set up monitoring,
crash reporting and error tracking with tools like Sentry.
What your first 6 months will look like
- Pilot launch: Deploy the existing web MVP into pilot venues, keep it stable and secure, and improve it based on operator feedback.
- Integrations: Connect and maintain the POS, booking, labour and inventory integrations needed to support venues.
- Assistant: Ship the first production version of the assistant to pilot venues.
- Raise readiness: Make sure the platform’s architecture, security and documentation will hold up to technical due diligence.
Qualifications Required
- Proven experience building and shipping full-stack applications into production.
- Strong skills in React and C#/.NET.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production systems, such as tool-calling agents or retrieval-augmented generation.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, PostgreSQL and CI/CD pipelines.
- A strong eye for UI design and the ability to take a rough concept to a finished, polished interface.
- Experience building and maintaining third-party API integrations.
- Solid understanding of application security and access control.
- Comfortable working independently and owning delivery from start to finish.
Highly regarded: React Native apps published to the App Store or Google Play, experience with Azure AI Foundry, early-stage startup experience and familiarity with hospitality technology. Remuneration: This role starts part-time and is equity-based. Following our initial funding round, targeted for Q1 2027, the role is intended to become a full-time salaried position. We offer flexible hybrid working across Greater Sydney.
