We’re Wield, an early-stage, venture-backed team founded by ex-Canva alumni and based in Surry Hills. We’re still in stealth, but we’re working in a space we feel passionate about: software monetisation, and making it easier for any software company to get right. The Role
As our founding DS, you’ll be in the driver’s seat of our data and intelligence strategy. Data is core to what we’re building for our Businesses, so you’ll own the vision and the roadmap, working closely with the founders, eng, product, design and Businesses, in a fun, passionate team of monetisation nerds.
What You’ll Do
- Set the vision for turning data into insights and recommendations at scale, and own the roadmap that gets us there
- Decide what needs to exist, then build it alongside our engineers
- Get close to Businesses and their data to work out how to maximise their growth, and how we complement their existing data platforms
Ideal Skills
- PLG or monetisation growth experience,
with deep familiarity in growth experimentation
- Rigorous experimentation design: you know how to set up a test, read it honestly and turn it into the next decision
- Experience working on customer-facing growth or product surfaces, where your work shipped and real users felt it
- A track record of shipping customer-facing data or ML product, with measurable impact
- Strong product sense and the instinct to shape what gets built
- Curiosity for digging into messy customer data until it tells you something useful
- Autonomy and strong opinions: you spot the work, set the data roadmap and bring people with you
- Hands-on building skills, since you’ll be in the code and the data every day
