We are looking for our next team member to join the canine crew as a Dog Daycare Attendant.

This is a permanent full time position offering 38 hours per week.

About Dog's Day Out

Dog’s Day Out Doggy Daycare is a bustling doggy daycare located in Mitchell ACT.

We opened our doors with the goal of providing Canberra's dogs with a safe, clean and FUN place to play the day away!

Our focus is on socialising, training and enriching the lives all of our beautiful doggy clients!

About the role In this exciting and busy role your responsibilities will include:

- Supervising off-leash play groups and ensuring safety is maintained

- Engaging, playing with and training dogs

- Providing friendly and professional customer service during drop off and pick up times

- Completing daily record keeping and other administrative tasks

- Assisting with dog washes and training

- Cleaning, cleaning and MORE cleaning!

- Consistently monitoring the health, safety and welfare of the dogs in your care

About you

While working with dogs sounds like a lot of fun (and it is!) it is also a very physically and mentally demanding job.

We are looking for people who would love to become part of a team, who can work well with others as well as independently.

You will need to be quick on your feet and fast thinking, with the ability to multitask – We have to be able to improvise and adapt to whatever the day brings





We need someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty as there is A LOT of cleaning involved.

The perfect candidate will be:

- Proactive, outgoing and energetic
- Reliable, responsible and punctual
- Friendly and confident when interacting with clients
- A team player who can also take initiative
- Eager to learn, develop new skills and grow with us
- Someone who enjoys an active role, and is comfortable working outdoors in all of Canberra's weather conditions

If you are put off by smelly odours, slobber, loud noises or poop, unfortunately this is not the job for you.

Professional experience in the animal industry is NOT essential for this position.

Enthusiasm, a friendly attitude, a willingness to learn, exceptional reliability and great customer service skills are what matter most to be successful in this role.

Training is provided on the job including several short courses on dog behaviour and dog group management.
