- Pure Sight Eye Surgeons is a specialist vision correction and cataract practice led by Dr Alison Chiu, one of Australia’s most experienced refractive surgeons. We are looking for a receptionist for our Paddington rooms who loves people and thrives when the day is full. This is a full reception role. You will run the front desk, phones, emails and bookings, often all at once, and you will be the first person our patients meet. You take pride in getting the details right, and when you don’t know an answer, you go and find it.

You don’t need medical experience. We will train you. You do need to be confident with computers and technology, quick to learn new systems, and keen to learn the terminology of eye care. We care that you have worked somewhere service really matters, and that you are comfortable talking with patients about their options, including cost.

What you will do:

- Be the first point of contact, greeting patients and creating a welcoming, professional atmosphere
- Look after patients from arrival to departure
- Manage bookings, appointments and enquiries in person, by phone, email and online, including soft sales
- Book personalised vision consultations and explain our process and pricing with confidence
- Check patients in and out and process patient medical files
- Support clinical flow by making sure patient files are complete
- Process patient billing, including cash, EFTPOS and Medicare claims
- Distribute patient correspondence and prepare and send dictated consult reports to referrers
- Use our practice management software and other systems daily
- Keep the practice clean,

tidy and well presented
- Work closely with our clinical, surgical bookings and administrative teams so every patient journey is seamless and personalised
- Provide administration support to our Specialists when needed, including occasional PA-style tasks such as accepting, coordinating or picking up deliveries

About you:

- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to troubleshoot as needed
- A genuine desire to learn new skills and keep upskilling
- Confident with computers and quick to pick up new systems
- Experience in a customer-focused role where service really matters

Training: You will complete approximately 4 weeks of full-time training at our Richmond clinic before moving to Paddington. This may be shorter or longer depending on your experience and how quickly you pick up the role. Your hours during training will be adjusted so the extra travel is included in your paid time. As our practice grows, this role has a clear path to a reception lead position for the right person.

What we offer: Full training, a supportive team that is growing, and real room to progress.

How to apply:

Apply through SEEK and submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your experience and why you’d be a great fit for this role. Both are required.

Optional, but viewed favourably: Record a short video (no longer than 2 minutes) telling us why you would be excellent at this role and about a time you went above and beyond for a customer. Email the video, or a link to it, to [email protected] with the subject line “Reception Paddington: [Your Name]”.
