Groundsperson – Sports Turf

Help Maintain Some of Sydney's Premier Sporting Fields

At Green by Nature, we create and maintain exceptional green spaces that support communities, athletes and active lifestyles.

We're looking for a hands-on Groundsperson to join our Sports Turf team, working across high-profile Sydney sporting venues including Tramway Oval, Kippax Lake Fields and Heffron Park.

If you've worked in greenkeeping, sports turf or grounds maintenance and have experience operating cylinder mowers, we'd particularly like to hear from you. This could also be a excellent opportunity for Working Holiday Visa holders with relevant greenkeeping or turf experience looking to put their skills to use while in Sydney.

You'll work alongside experienced greenkeepers and turf professionals, helping maintain quality playing surfaces used by AFL, NRL and Rugby teams, as well as the wider community.

About the Role

As a Groundsperson, you'll be part of a specialist team responsible for keeping sporting fields looking and performing at their best.

This is a practical, hands-on role involving regular travel between sporting venues, so a current driver's licence is essential.

What You'll Be Doing

- Mowing and presenting sports turf

- Operating a range of specialised turf machinery and equipment

- Aerating, line marking, topdressing and applying fertilisers

- Supporting seasonal turf renovations and recovery works

- Assisting with irrigation and water management

- Working across multiple sporting venues as part of an experienced Sports Turf team

- Maintaining equipment, safe work practices and high presentation standards across our sites

About You

For this role, hands-on experience is more important than formal qualifications.

We're particularly keen to hear from people who have worked in greenkeeping, sports turf, golf course maintenance or a similar turf environment and are comfortable operating turf machinery.

You'll ideally bring

- Previous greenkeeping, sports turf or relevant grounds maintenance experience

- A current driver's licence – essential

- Confidence operating and caring for turf machinery and equipment

- A willingness to work outdoors and get stuck into physical, hands-on work

- White Card

- Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one

A qualification in sports turf or greenkeeping is welcome but is not required for this role. Relevant practical experience will be highly regarded.

Why Join Green by Nature?

- Work across recognised Sydney sporting venues used by professional and community teams

- Get hands-on with quality sports turf machinery and equipment

- Work alongside experienced greenkeepers and turf professionals

- Build your experience maintaining high-quality sports turf surfaces

- Uniform and PPE provided

- Join a supportive, safety-focused team
