We are seeking an experienced Group IT Operations Manager to oversee the effective, secure and cost-efficient operation of IT across the Group. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role holds ownership of the Group's cyber security posture and manages the relationship with its external managed service provider (MSP).

The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Software Engineer and the transformation team to deliver the IT operations uplift pipeline and take operational responsibility for new systems once they move into production.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for managing the pipeline of IT operations, uplift initiatives in conjunction with the transformation team, maintain a collaborative relationship with the MSP to sustain agreed service levels, and drive continuous improvement in service quality, security and value. The position works closely with the Principal Software Engineer and assumes operational responsibility for current systems following a formal handover into production.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the primary point of contact for IT matters across all entities and sites, including business applications such as Jobpac, Procore, Employment Hero, HammerTech, HubSpot and Xero
- Establish and monitor service level agreements with the MSP and other providers, and conduct quarterly service reviews against an agreed KPI scorecard
- Own the Group's cyber security posture and lead the ACSC Essential Eight uplift programme to the agreed target maturity
- Develop and maintain the Group Cyber Security Policy, including an AI usage policy
- Ensure baseline security controls are maintained across all entities, including MFA, Conditional Access, Intune, Microsoft Defender and least-privilege administrative access




- Lead incident response in coordination with the MSP, cyber insurer and security assessor
- Oversee security awareness training, phishing simulation, and joiner, mover and leaver processes
- Manage software licensing, hardware procurement, the IT asset register and the IT budget in conjunction with Finance
- Maintain IT policies and controls, oversee backup and restoration testing, and prepare evidence for audits, insurers and assessors
- Report monthly to the CFO on service performance, security posture, expenditure and risk, and work with the CFO to brief owners and the Board on cyber security risk
- Drive continuous improvement and the adoption of Microsoft 365 and AI productivity tools across the Group

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will must have the following criteria:

- Relevant qualification in computer science, information technology, information systems or a related discipline
- Minimum of seven years' experience in IT operations, including at least three years managing outsourced or MSP-delivered services
- Demonstrated experience managing service provider performance against agreed service levels and KPIs
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender and Exchange Online
- Working knowledge of the ACSC Essential Eight and IT controls for audit and insurance purposes
- Demonstrated experience leading cyber security programmes, including incident response
- Experience in IT budgeting, licence management and procurement
- Proven record of driving continuous improvement in IT service delivery
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including reporting to executive stakeholders
