Our Maintenance team plays an important role in keeping the hotel safe, functional and looking its best for our guests and team.
About the Role
As a Handyperson at Dorsett Gold Coast, you'll assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of our hotel facilities, guest rooms and public areas.
This is an entry-level, hands-on role where you'll work alongside our Building Manager and Maintenance Team Leader, learning the ropes and getting involved in a variety of maintenance tasks and general repairs. No formal trade qualification or extensive hotel maintenance experience is required. We're more interested in your practical skills, willingness to learn and can-do attitude!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas.
- Respond to maintenance requests and help resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry,
painting and furniture repairs within your level of competency.
- Support preventative maintenance of plant, equipment and building facilities.
- Log and track maintenance requests and completed work using our maintenance management system, Optii.
- Assist with contractor access and coordination as required.
- Help maintain stock levels of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with WHS requirements and hotel procedures.
- Keep maintenance areas clean, safe and organised.
