CSG 3PL is an established Australian third-party logistics provider with over 20 years of experience in warehousing, transport and distribution.
Due to our growing transport operations, we are seeking experienced, reliable and safety-conscious HC/MC truck drivers to join our Melbourne container transport team.
About the Role
You will be operating a Prime Mover with a Single Skeletal Semi-Trailer, primarily transporting 40ft High Cube (40HC) shipping containers.
The role involves local container transport across Melbourne, including port collections, container depots, warehouses and customer delivery locations as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate HC/MC heavy combination vehicles.
- Collect and deliver shipping containers according to transport schedules.
- Perform daily pre-start vehicle inspections and safety checks.
- Safely couple and uncouple trailers and secure container locking mechanisms.
- Complete transport documentation and delivery records accurately.
- Comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and road safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with the transport team and customers.
Requirements
Essential:
- Current and valid Australian HC or MC Driver's Licence.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant heavy combination vehicle driving experience.
- Experience operating Prime Movers and Semi-Trailers.
- Good reversing and trailer manoeuvring skills.
- Safe driving record and ability to provide a recent Driver History Report.
- Good communication skills,
reliability and a professional attitude.
- Valid Australian working rights.
- Valid ABN for the proposed contractor arrangement.
Highly Regarded:
- Previous experience transporting 20ft and 40ft shipping containers.
- Experience with Melbourne wharf, container depots and port operations.
- Current MSIC card or willingness to obtain one if required.
- BFM accreditation or willingness to obtain it where applicable.
Pay & Working Arrangements
- Hourly Rate: $45.00 AUD (inclusive of applicable superannuation, excluding GST).
- ABN contractor engagement.
- Flexible working arrangements with no fixed roster.
- Work offered according to daily transport requirements and availability.
- No guaranteed minimum weekly working hours.
- Where superannuation contributions are legally required, CSG will pay them directly to the contractor's nominated super fund as part of the agreed hourly package.
Pre-Engagement Requirements Successful applicants may be required to provide:
- Recent Driver History Report.
- National Police Check.
- Medical fitness assessment, including Drug & Alcohol screening, with a report issued within the previous three months.
